What Drives Business Value?

After decades of valuing businesses and intangible assets, Dave became interested in a question that traditional financial statements don’t answer particularly well:

What is the economic value of the people who make a business work?

That question became the foundation for The NEW ROI®: Return On Individuals, Dave’s framework for examining the relationship between financial capital, intellectual capital, and human capital.

The NEW ROI explores how leadership, culture, employee engagement, organizational capabilities, and the people behind a business can influence performance, risk, and ultimately business value.

Dave’s philosophy is captured in one sentence:

“The value of a business is a function of how well the financial capital and the intellectual capital are managed by the human capital. You’d better get the human capital part right.”

The NEW ROI: Return On Individuals
An exploration of the financial impact of human capital and why people should be viewed as assets rather than simply expenses.

The NEW ROI: Going Behind The Numbers
A deeper look at the operational, cultural, leadership, and human factors that can create or destroy business value.
